Why does Magnesium Oil Spray tingle or itch?

Some people feel a tingling or itching sensation when first using a Magnesium Oil Spray. This is normal and often a sign that your body is magnesium deficient. It should lessen over time as your body adjusts and magnesium levels increase. This can be achieved through daily use. To reduce tingling, try:

You can use our Kids Magnesium Oil at any time of the day! While it’s most commonly applied at bedtime to support calm and restful sleep, it can also be used during the day to help ease muscle tension, support focus, and promote relaxation. Especially after sports, swimming, or busy school days.

Can you have too much Magnesium?

No, if the levels of magnesium within your body exceed its requirements, your body will excrete any excess amounts of magnesium that it does not require.

Will it help with my child's growing pains?

Yes, magnesium can be wonderful for soothing growing pains and muscle tension. When massaged gently into the legs (especially before bed), it can help relax the muscles and support more comfortable, restful sleep. Many parents notice a difference within a few days of consistent use.

What if my child has sensitive skin?

Our Kids Magnesium Oil is formulated specially for delicate skin, it’s a lower strength (150 mg per mL) and free from essential oils.

If your child has extra-sensitive skin, try a patch test first on a small area, such as the lower leg.

A mild tingling sensation can be normal at first, but if irritation occurs, you can dilute the spray by applying it over a little body oil or lotion, or rinse off after 20 minutes. Another option is to begin at the soles of the feet to build up Magnesium levels within the body, so other parts of the body can start to tolerate the sensation when the magnesium is applied.

Can I use the adult version on my kids instead?

We don’t recommend it. Our Adult Magnesium Oil contains more than double the magnesium concentration (350 mg per mL), which may feel too strong for children’s skin and could cause tingling or dryness.

The kids version is specially balanced for young, sensitive skin, giving all the benefits of magnesium in a gentler, more comfortable formula.
